Challenges in finding quantitative roles

I’ve been navigating the job market for quantitative psychology positions, and it seems increasingly challenging. I’ve applied to over a dozen roles in the past month, many of which require extensive experience with specific statistical software that I’m still mastering. It’s tough to balance skill acquisition with actual job applications — has anyone else encountered this? How did you manage the transition?

It’s a tough spot for sure! Maybe consider volunteering for projects or internships that can help you get familiar with the software while you also apply. It’s like learning to swim while at the pool party — it’s a bit messy, but you’ll be in the deep end faster.

I totally get your struggle with the statistical software — it’s frustrating when you’re applying for jobs but still feel like a beginner. Have you thought about joining some online workshops or forums where you can practice and get feedback, maybe even connect with others in the field? It might help bridge that experience gap a bit while you apply. Have you tried any specific resources yet?
